Riding Mt Buller

Signposts on the roadside allow you to chart your progress up the mountain, advising of the altitude you have reached and the distance remaining before arriving at the Mt Buller Village.
If you’re feeling energetic, warm up your legs on the ride from Mansfield, the closest major town to Mt Buller, and enjoy some great views on the approach to the mountain and start of the 7 Peaks Ride.

Cycling Inform Ride Tips
While the average gradient of the climb is 6%, the start is tough. After steep pinches there is a flatter section. You’ll want to keep some fuel in the tank for the last 1.5 km which is by far the toughest part of the ride and the famous Hell Corner at 15km. Both will really put you in the hurt locker!
