Riding Falls Creek
Enjoy the Bogong High Plains Rd ride. This 32km alpine ride starts in the Kiewa Valley at Mt Beauty and ends in Falls Creek. The ride demands skill and fitness as riders ascend 1300m from the valley to the village. The road is winding with a series of ascents and descents in the earlier and mid stages.
Waterfalls, wildflowers, mountain streams and tall gum forests provide an interesting and sheltered landscape for most of this ride. Watch as the environment changes as altitude increases from the valley to the alpine. The mountain peaks of Bogong, Victoria’s highest, and Spion Kopje provide an incredible backdrop to your ride.
Riders will head past Bogong Village and Howman’s Gap before arriving at Falls Creek. Accommodation, coffee and lunch is on offer, a welcome reward after a big ride. There is also a spare parts vending machine for emergencies.
